My sister told me to do it; she said to just start. I am a big fan of quotes, and on the heels of her encouragement, I found this:

“Great people do things before they are ready. They do things before they know they can do it.”

– Amy Poehler

I guess I couldn’t ignore her advice or make excuses why it wasn’t the right time for this now! So in order to emulate the greatest of people I am just starting. My intention is for this to be primarily a travel blog, but I already know that it will have more than just stories about the places I’ve been, more than impressions, more than advice on what to pack, to do and see. I am hoping to capture the flavor of a place and impart the joy that travel brings. My passion is travel, but I hope that by living my own passion I am encouraging you to seek yours. I am hoping to entice people to stop talking about following their bliss and actually do it. I most definitely want to lead by example.

I am an experienced traveler. I am a novice raconteur. I am a fledgling photographer. I am a neophyte in many ways, but we all must start somewhere. It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who wisely said “every artist was first an amateur.”

I hope that you enjoy reading and as much as I enjoy writing about my bliss.
