Me and the Colonel

Me and the Colonel

So this really shouldn’t qualify as that offbeat, except to me a museum solely dedicated to KFC seems a bit strange… Stranger still it is a working KFC restaurant as well.
Talk about off the beaten path, it is located in an out of the way place in a small town (Corbin, KY). How it managed to get as ubiquitous as it did is amazing, since it clearly was one of those places you really needed to know was there to find. It wasn’t going to be an accidental find from a turn off the highway.

So I haven’t had KFC in years,¬† I think that there is much better¬†fast food fried chicken out there, but I couldn’t walk into the restaurant/museum snap a few shots and walk out. So I ordered nuggets…yep, I can honestly say that is probably the last time I will eat at KFC, but if you find yourself off the beaten path in Corbin, it is worth your while to check out the KFC museum (but find a Chick-fil-A if you get a taste for chicken).

It was also a B&B (or more like a motel, but B&B sounds so much nicer)
